Andy Ward in Milan to present THE LONELY FIREFLY + Illustrations for Fashion

Andy Ward, the renowned english illustrator who has collaborated with important American and British newspapers and magazines, such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Time and USA Today, is the first guest in the new Milan store Atom Plastic Milan that presents the first of a series of exhibitions dedicated to some of the most interesting contemporary illustrators and designers in the Italian and international scenery.

The exhibition will open Thursday 4th February at 6 p.m at ATOM PLASTIC store, via Volta 6 Milan and end on Thursday the 4th of March. The artist will present some of his pieces (such as clothing and accessories), meet with his fans and tell unveil the secrets behind his works.

Ward’s artwork has been chosen to decorate airplanes and London buses, as layout for important advertising campaigns, sneakers and much more. International brands such as Custo Barcelona, MTV, Budweiser, Citroën, Mars and Mattel have requested his collaboration.

The artist has also worked with Tookata People, a brand of delicious accessories in pure leather printed with Andy Ward’s creative illustrations. You can find these accessories in Italy in the Atom Plastic Milan store alone.

The recurring themes in Ward’s work are inspired by his life experiences and his own cultural baggage. His british countryside adolescence, the city life in London, the love for his children, black American music, the Japanese culture, Max Fleisher’s cartoons, vintage objects, sailor tattoos and his travel notebooks are only some examples of Ward’s inspiring life experiences.
